Grzymalow is a tiny village located in one of the most beautiful spots of the Miechowska Upland (which is part of the Miechowsko-Dzialoszycki Landscape Preservation Area), 12 km from Miechow and the road E7 from Cracow to Warsaw, and 5 km from Kosciuszko Mound and the battlefields of Racławice-Janowiczki.
Distance from Cracow: 50 km (45 mins by car).
Grzymalow was established at the beginning of 18th century. Initially as a game and forest settlement, it was founded by Raszowskis Family of Grzymała crest in the mountainous forest area, which belonged to their land estate, with the administrative center in nearby Sladow; they had lived there since 17th c. There used to be a grange in Grzymalow.
The Manor House was once occupied by a village school, but for 20 years it had been completely deserted and vacant prior to its purchase by the present owners. Currently, the house has been thoroughly refurbished, the interior decorations were renovated to suit the character and features of a quaint Polish Manor House.
Grzymalow is located in the vicinity of one of the highest points of the Miechowska Upland ensuring the breathtaking views of the countryside (Kalinka i Nidzica rivers valley, the Wodzislawski hump, a renaissance castle in Ksiaz, wooded areas near Ksiaz and Trzonow).
About 5 km from the House in Grzymalow, there are two villages Raclawice and Janowiczki, the site of the historic battle, with the mound of Kosciuszko commemorating the event.
Besides commercially playing host to wedding receptions and various social occasions, the Manor House in Grzymalow organizes art events (concerts, meetings, plein-air workshops, etc.). In 2008 the owners of the House inaugurated a series of meetings combined with concerts called "NIGHTS AND DAYS" OF THE MIECHOW REGION, inspired by and devoted to readings of the memoirs of KAZIMIERZ GIRTLER, an invaluable and little known source of historic and social information concerning the 19th century Malopolska Province in general, and the Miechowska Region in particular.
The House also hosts International Plein-Air Painting Workshops organized by the Art Gallery "U Jaksy" from Miechow.
The owners of the Manor House in Grzymalow are professional musicians.
